J. David Stephens
Kentucky Administrative Bishop

Bishop J. David Stephens earned his BA from Lee University in 1972, and his MA in Church Ministry from the Church of God Theological Seminary in 1996. At the past General Assembly he was re-elected to a second term on the International Executive Council. Throughout his ministry he has served on several boards including: the International Youth and Christian Education Board, (1982-1990), International Board of Education, (1992-1996), and the General Assembly Cabinet, (1992-2000).

Stephens has ministered as an evangelist, church planter, pastor, and, for 22 years a State Youth and Christian Education Director in 7 states. Prior to being appointed as our Administrative Bishop he served as Regional Overseer of Northern New England from 1998-2002.

J. David enjoys a rich heritage in the Church of God . His great uncle, John L. Stephens, was a well known church leader, as well as was James A. Stephens, his father. His parents are now retired and living in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Joyce Stephens
Women's Ministries President

Joyce is serving her fourth term as a member of the International Women’s Ministries Board. She provides excellent leadership as the State Women's Ministries President of Kentucky.

The Stephens have one daughter, Jeanna, who works in the World Missions Department at International Offices in Cleveland , Tennessee. And one son, Brent, married to Sarah, and they have two children. Brent serves the Church of God in Louisiana as State Youth and Christian Education Director.

Brian Yaun
State Youth and Christian Education Director

Brian Yaun has served with distinction in many areas of ministry including Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, Minister of Music, Senior Pastor, and he served as State Youth and Christian Education Director in Arizona . Brian is a 1989 graduate of Lee University majoring in Intercultural Studies with minors in Sociology and Bible. He completed his Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Phoenix in 2006.

Cathy Yaun
State Girls Club Coordinator

Cathy Yaun is a Lee graduate with a Bachelors of Arts in English and a minor in Spanish. She served as the Arizona Girls Clubs Coordinator and worship leader at Parkway Community Church of God in Phoenix . While in Florida, she taught high school Spanish and English for many years.
