The mission of the church is clear. The Great Commission has never been recalled. We must develop a soul winning/ discipleship plan for each community where we have a church.

Evangelism today demands a NET mentality. Sports fishermen may use a fly rod to go after the trophy catch, but the church is after “Whosoever will”… therefore, a net is better than a fly rod!

Many of us are great at “doing church”. Week after week we gather with the saints in the sanctuary, and have a grand time together.

We appeal mostly to church folks. But, what about the unchurched? How do we change our focus to include sinners? What must we do? As always, God’s Word informs us…

LOOK…We must look. Look at, not look for. We know who they are…we do not need to look for them, we need to look at them...into their eyes.

John 4:35 “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest”.

LEARN…we must learn how they think, and feel… about life, and what they think about us. We must understand them, if we hope to be understood by them.

Col 4:5-6 “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man”.

IDENTIFY…we must identify common interests that we have with them, and begin to develop talking points. This is what Jesus did, when He set aside the robe of heaven and picked up an earthly robe…He identified with us. This is what being fishers of men is all about. The church must intentionally build positive relationships with unbelievers.

1 Cor 9:22 “To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means, save some”.
